Rachel Whiting

Rachel Whiting's career in Rehabilitative Pilates and Gyrotonic movement therapy is a direct result of her experiences and injuries in dance.

Rachel was introduced to these rehabilitative and preventative techniques in the mid 1990's while attending Julliard School. Later as a professional dance and faculty member at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York City, she found that the nature of the work was vital component to the understanding of body mechanics, and developing a strong, injury-free body.

Rachel began her formal Pilates rehabilitation training in Colorado in 1998 with Amy Anderson of Colorado Center for Physical Therapy and Polestar Education. Expanding her work further, she obtained Gyrotonic ® certification under Master Trainer Lisa Marie Goodwin and the Gyrotonc Ladder apparatus with Master Trainer Debra Rose.

Upon moving to Los Angeles in 2004, Rachel joined Angel City Body Kinetics as a senior trainer, continuing to enhance her rehabilitative skills with master teacher Maire Jose-Blom.

Currently, Rachel works at Women's Physical Therapy Rehabilitation, focusing her attention on rehabilitative movement therapy and body conditioning using her advanced training in Pilates and Gyrotonic®
