Marchelle Brown

Marchelle Brown, CLT, has an extensive massage therapy background. She specializes in Dr. Vodder manual lymph drainage (MLD) and complex decongestive therapy (CDT) for lymphedema, as well as for post-operative patients and those who have undergone reconstructive surgery.

While working as a massage therapist, Marchelle, became interested in manual lymph drainage. In 1985 she attended one of the first US based training sessions of Austria’s prestigious Dr. Voder School, studying with the school’s Principal Hidegard Whittlinger. For the next decade Marchelle performed manual lymph drainage while continuing her Vodder studies at courses in the US and Canada, becoming fully certified as a lymphedema therapist in 1995. She worked at the UCLA Rehabilitation Department’s lymphedema therapy program from 1995 until 1999 when the program was discontinued. Marchelle currently works with Women’s Physical Therapy and as a private practioner.

Marchelle continued to expand her working and theoretical knowledge of lymphedema therapy and was certified in 1997 by the Lerner Lymphedema Services Academy, New York, taught by Gunther Klose. In 1998 she was certified by the Foeldi School in Hinterzarten, Germany, and in 2001 she was re-certified in Austria at the Vodder School.

An important part of Marchelle’s treatments includes teaching her patients about the prevention and management of lymphedema. She shows them how to control their condition by self-care and self-massage, and shares tips on how to maintain healthier, active lifestyle.
